How to create a new FrameMaker document

To make a new FrameMaker document:

1 Open FrameMaker, and select File > New.
2 Navigate to the path where the template resides.
3 Select a template, and click New.
A new, untitled FrameMaker document opens that contains the template formats and contents.
4 Select File > Save, and name your file by doing one of the following:

If you are making a new file then
. enter a File name, and click Save.
. edit the user variables. See “Editing User Variables”.

If you are replacing a file then
. navigate to the directory where your file resides, and select that file in the Save Document window.
. click Save, and then click OK to overwrite the existing file.
. edit the user variables. See “Editing User Variables”.
